Cafe Sakura
Cafe Sakura is a stylish and vegan-friendly restaurant in Hongdae. Although they only have a small selection of food, four main dishes, a few appetizers, and two seasonal plates, the food itself is very delicious and healthy. There is a huge array of beverages ranging from coffee, tea, wine, beer, cocktails, etc. One can definitely tell how much the baristas like experimenting with drinks by the various styles and flavors Cafe Sakura offers.
Cute little bar where you can watch the baristas make coffee and drinks. Of course if you want to admire the action from afar, there are also many tables surrounding the bar to choose from.
There is a wide variety of books and magazines from different countries. I am not sure if the customers can actually read them or not, but it gives a nice articulate and classy vibe to the restaurant.
Chicken Curry and Vegan Mix Plate
After 6pm, there are only two dishes served in Cafe Sakura, fortunately both are very tasty. The Chicken Curry is more like a chili flavor than curry, but nonetheless, very delicious. It is served with purple grain rice and a chicken drumstick.
Vegan Mix Plate
For those who are vegan or health food lovers, this mix is both vegan-friendly and delicious. Everything is homemade and organic, from the vegetable soup, to the nut and fruit bread. Also, this was one of the first time ever seeing chick peas in Korea. Where they came from I have no idea, but I love it.
Red Wine Lemonade
Very refreshing wine that tastes very similar to sangria. In Korea good wine that is not $100 is hard to come by, so it is a rare find to have such a deliciously treat with dinner. :)
All in all, for a slightly pricey but relaxing night out, Cafe Sakura is highly recommended.
